It’s time to have fun in the sun!
Even though June has been flying by right before our eyes, we hope you’re still taking every opportunity to soak up the summer sun and enjoy the great outdoors. With temperatures going high as 25 degrees, there’s no better way to cool down than taking a dip in the pool or visiting your favourite water park. But there are also many other ways to have a fun time without getting drenched.
In fact, this June, we saw a number of live concerts, food festivals, exhibitions and performances taking place. From Symphony in the Gardens at Casa Loma and Taste of Little Italy to Stranger Things: The Experience and Cirque du Soleil. If you missed any of these special events, don’t feel disheartened. Are you pondering about the idea of leaving Twitter? You might want to think again. If we still don’t have your attention, we have two words for you: Twitter Blue.
This past year, Twitter Blue was relaunched as Twitter’s paid subscription service. Hootsuite reveals that it offers additional features designed to improve user experience and elevate quality conversations. In the past, Twitter has stated that Twitter Blue intends to reduce the number of untrustworthy accounts floating around on the Internet. It aims to promote a new and improved version of Twitter, one where people can safely join the platform.
Twitter Blue gives subscribers access to many new features that will enable them to expand their reach, see fewer ads and customize their experience on the platform. If you thought it can’t get better than that, wait until you hear this: a Twitter Blue subscription allows you to acquire a Twitter verification badge. That’s right, all you have to do is meet the platform’s eligibility criteria and you will be given a blue checkmark on your profile.
Some of the other amazing perks you can get from Twitter Blue include the following:
- Edit tweets
- Bookmark folders
- Custom app icons
- Text formatting
- NFT profile pictures

Long gone are the days when social media was just used to poke your friends or send your grandma holiday pictures. In recent years, social media has quickly become a powerful tool in the marketing world. Not only does it help businesses create brand awareness, but also promotes their products and services and nurtures a loyal customer base.
Speaking of customers, an important group that helped social media gain momentum is the generation that has lived their whole lives with the internet–GenZ. In their blog, the Retail Dive reveals data that was found from a report conducted by the International Council of Shopping Centers on GenZ’s spending habits.
According to ICSC, eighty-five percent of respondents in the generation said social media influences their purchasing choices. Eighty-five percent of men and 86% of women said social media affects their buying decisions. Forty-five percent of Gen Z respondents named TikTok and Instagram as the top platforms influencing their purchasing decisions, followed by YouTube (38%), Facebook (24%), Snapchat (17%), Twitter (14%) and Reddit (7%).
Since Gen Z is relying more heavily on TikTok and Instagram over other platforms, you should consider prioritizing those social media spaces in your marketing strategy if you haven’t already.

As we mentioned while discussing the last blog, Instagram is becoming a marketing hub for the world of e-commerce. Whether it’s to promote a fairly recent or decades-old business, more and more people are flocking to the social media platform to put their products on everyone’s radar. At the same time, customers are also frequenting the app to discover new products and join in on all the hype surrounding them.
According to HubSpot, approximately 90% of Instagram’s 1 billion active monthly users follow a business account on the platform. On top of that, there are more than 200 million business accounts. This goes to show how integral it is for business owners to jump on the bandwagon and promote their services on one of the biggest social media platforms in the world.
Even though we’re well aware of how necessary it is to include Instagram in your social media marketing strategy, how do you create a follow-worthy profile? Gaining tons of followers is no easy feat, but that doesn’t make it impossible either. Once you know what to invest your time and effort in, the road ahead will only become easier to tread.

One of the many things that business owners neglect to include in their marketing strategy is newsletters. Newsletters offer a multitude of benefits that you can reap. They help establish and build relationships, segment your audience, increase your leads and sales, boost other digital efforts–and the list goes on.
However, when it comes to creating a newsletter, you can’t simply create content filled with fluff and call it a day. If you want to reel people in and convince them to click the shopping cart icon on your website, you need to take extra steps to push your brand forward. That means ensuring your newsletter uses effective language that delivers the right message, while compelling people to stay invested. But where do you even start?
In their blog, the Content Marketing Institute discusses some important lessons to consider for creating more effective newsletter content. The blog presents Ocean Spray’s newsletters as a case study to readers. It goes into great detail to explain the positive aspects that can be taken away from their content as well as the mistakes that should be learned from.
Here are a few of the helpful tips that the Content Marketing Institute recommends:
- Pace your content
- Tailor your content to the product calendar
- Deliver the expected
- Don’t spill all the beans
