This Week In Internet Marketing

Happy Tuesday!

Part of running a business means staying up to date with all the latest industry news and marketing trends, so you can stand out from the crowd.

This week, we’ve collected 5 articles to provide you with important updates – so you can take your business to the top!

How to Use Article Marketing To Improve SEO And Drive More Traffic

A well-written and optimized article can have a wide-reaching impact across your marketing channels. Article marketing means doing just that. By creating an article that includes high-quality and educational content, you can help increase organic traffic and improve your overall reach.

Search Engine Journal has compiled nine tips on how to make the most of a multi-channel article marketing distribution strategy including choosing the right topic, conducting keyword research, optimizing your content, adding media, establishing a shareable strategy, including linkable assets, etc. You can even use parts of your articles to create social media posts, and link them to your content for more visibility! SEO Strategy – Voice Search and its Impact in 2021

How many times have you heard the phrase, “Hey Google”, “Hey Alexa”, or even “Hey Siri” over the past few years? Voice search is on the rise and should be on your business’s radar. As stated in the article, almost a third of mobile users use online voice search (outside of the numbers using smart speakers); especially with the popularity of eCommerce continuing to grow.

It’s changing the way people search, and the types of queries that are being used. Typically for users searching on a computer or mobile, the typical short-tail (2-3 word) keyword would suffice, however people don’t “talk” like that in real life. Users using voice search will likely be using long-tail (3-4 word) keywords to conduct voice searches, as we tend to be more elaborate when speaking out loud. With all that being said, maybe it’s time to re-visit your website and optimize it for voice search! Click the article linked to learn more.

What digital marketers should know about Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics recently underwent an update and came out with Google Analytics 4, which is more advanced than previous versions. Digital marketers who upgrade to this version will be able to take advantage of a better representation of user behaviour, respect user privacy preferences, and require less data aggregation.

Furthermore, Google Analytics 4 has introduced new audiences, engagement metrics, and privacy controls. It’s worth noting that by creating a better privacy experience for users, there will be larger gaps in data for marketers. Google is doing this in an effort to work around cookies being phased out, which we will discuss next! Click the link above to read more.

Third-Party Cookies Are on Their Way Out. How to Prepare for What’s Next.

Third-Party Cookies/data are slowly being phased out by internet browsers, and Google Chrome has now announced they will be eliminating them completely by 2023. This has caused some panic amongst the online community, as marketers are having to find new and innovative ways to engage and target audiences.

This article covers a few tips and tricks you may be able to incorporate to transition from your current strategy into a new one including synthesizing existing data, finding new targeting strategies, and getting more personal with customers. Click the article linked above to dive deeper into how to prepare for this update.
