Google Slips Slightly Year Over Year but Continues to Dominate
Last month we saw Google creep up about 1 percentage point (a significant chunk) to 83.38%; Yahoo! fell from 6.84% to 6.19%, while the Chinese search engine Baidu gained ground and Bing dropped 0.39% to 3.87% of global search engine market share as reported by NetMarketShare.
Google Gains Nearly a Full Percentage Point Since Last Month
Typically we see movement in the fractions of a percent, from October 2011 to November 2011 we saw Google jump from 82.40% – 83.38%.
Yahoo! Sinks After a 2011 High in October
While still being the second most popular search engine on the web, Yahoo! fell from 6.84% in October to 6.19% in November 2011. Year over year Yahoo has fallen 0.3%.
Bing Lags Behind and Falls 0.39% Since October
Despite losing the most ground this month, Bing is up 0.66% since last year; their gains are modest considering they only have 3.87% market Share.

Too bad, before Bing, MSN used to have quite a strong position and Yahoo as well.
What could be the reason for them lagging so far behind Google?
Perhaps because Google has been diversifying its services, entering deeper into regional markets and has put a lot of effort into developing its advertising services?
