Google Adds Unified Search Ads Reporting to AI Max and Expands AI Brief to Seven Languages

Google Adds Unified Search Ads Reporting to AI Max and Expands AI Brief to Seven Languages

Google is changing how advertisers access data on AI-driven Search campaigns. In a September 23, 2026 post on the Google Ads Product Blog, the company announced two updates to AI Max for Search: a new unified reporting interface that consolidates the Search advertising journey into a single view, and an expansion of the AI Brief closed beta to seven additional languages.

New Unified Reporting Interface for AI Max

Google is introducing a new reporting feature in Google Ads designed to deliver a clearer view of AI-driven performance, showing a single unified view of the Search ads journey, including what search terms triggered ads, which creative assets users saw, and exactly where they landed on an advertiser's website.

The upcoming reporting interface will show, in one place, which search terms triggered an advertiser's ads, which creative assets were shown to the user, and the landing page the user was ultimately directed to. Previously, advertisers running AI Max campaigns had to analyze those three elements in separate reports, making it difficult to assess how automated decisions connected across the full user journey.

Google states the interface will help advertisers better understand how customers interact with their business and validate the strategic value AI Max brings to their campaigns.

Google has not yet announced when the reporting feature will become generally available. The company says more details and availability information will come later in 2026.

AI Brief Closed Beta Expands to Seven Languages

The closed beta of AI Brief is expanding to Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish, Google confirmed in its September 23 Google Ads Product Blog post.

AI Brief is a Gemini-powered feature inside AI Max that lets advertisers guide campaign behaviour using natural language. It allows advertisers to guide AI Max in their own words with detailed context on their business, audience, and key messaging.

The feature began rolling out in US English in May, making the September 23 announcement the first expansion beyond English. The language expansion adds more options for advertisers in the limited test; it does not represent general availability.

Broader AI Max Migration Context

The two updates arrive as Google is actively migrating existing Search campaigns to AI Max. Starting in September 2026, campaigns using text customization, previously known as automatically created assets, and the campaign-level broad match setting are being upgraded to AI Max.

Google is positioning AI Max as the next iteration of Dynamic Search Ads and has announced their official retirement, with the final automatic migration set to begin in February 2027.

AI Max for Search campaigns launched approximately one year ago and now support more than 500,000 advertisers.

What This Means for Search Advertisers

For paid search practitioners managing AI Max campaigns, the planned reporting interface addresses a practical gap: AI Max automates query matching, creative selection, and landing page decisions simultaneously, and those choices have until now been reviewable only in disconnected reports. A unified view would allow campaign managers to identify specific query-to-asset-to-landing-page combinations that underperform without needing to cross-reference multiple data exports. The AI Brief language expansion, while still in closed beta, signals that Google intends to make natural-language campaign guidance a standard input method for non-English-speaking advertisers, though access remains restricted until Google broadens availability.

In the September 23 Google Ads Product Blog post, Google stated it will share additional details and availability for the new reporting feature later in 2026.
