Google Ads AI Dashboards Begin Rollout, Letting Advertisers Build Reports With Text Prompts

Google Ads advertisers are beginning to see a new Gemini-powered Dashboards feature inside their accounts, replacing manual report-building with text-prompt-driven visualizations. Google announced the feature on August 10, 2026, through a post on the Google Ads & Commerce Blog written by Josh Moser, Senior Director of Product Management.

Feature Confirmed and Now Reaching Accounts

Google first showed the Gemini-powered Dashboards at Google Marketing Live in May 2026, then confirmed in August that a rollout was imminent. Some advertisers are now beginning to see the feature appear within their Google Ads accounts.

According to Google's August 10 announcement, the Dashboards tool allows advertisers to "transform raw data into clear visualizations with simple text prompts," with Google Analytics support listed as coming soon.

How the Dashboards Tool Works

Google described Dashboards as a new insights tool built into Google Ads with Gemini capabilities for data visualization, analysis, and export. Advertisers can access interactive views of their data through charts, graphs, and tables, and can customize their view by typing prompts that trigger real-time updates.

Every report automatically generates a real-time summary explaining the "why" behind the data, helping advertisers understand campaign performance or build a case for a new campaign idea, according to Google's announcement.

The tool covers impressions, clicks, video views, and cost, with breakdowns across devices, audiences, and campaign types.

None of the capabilities announced on August 10 execute changes to live campaigns; they summarize, visualize, and compare. Google's April 2026 agentic safety features allowed Ads Advisor to scan accounts unprompted and resolve certain policy violations, but the boundary between reporting and acting in the current Dashboards release remains on the reporting side.

Context Within Google's Broader AI Push

Dashboards is one part of a larger set of AI-driven reporting changes Google has introduced across its advertising products. Google Ads also received an updated homepage featuring AI-powered insights cards tailored to individual businesses, with a prompt box that allows users to generate insights based on specific questions, including changes in competitors' impression share or trends that could affect campaigns.

Google previously announced two agents built on Gemini, Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor, designed to help advertisers unlock key insights and drive improved campaign performance, with both beginning to roll out to all English-language accounts in early December 2025.

Natural-language report construction has appeared elsewhere in Google's advertising stack: Google Ad Manager began replacing its reports tool with interactive reports that suggest metrics and dimensions from natural-language prompts, a change publicly outlined in May 2025.

What This Means for Advertisers in Practice

For paid search and performance marketers, the Dashboards feature shifts the time investment in reporting from manual configuration, selecting metrics, dimensions, and chart types, toward reviewing and interpreting AI-generated outputs. Advertisers will still need to validate AI-generated summaries against underlying data, particularly when using those reports to inform budget decisions or present campaign results to clients. Google published no rollout dates, no country or language scope, and no accuracy figures alongside the August 10 announcement.

The announcement's single quoted user, Kevin Marshall, Paid Media Director at Gardyn, described Ask Advisor as "my go-to for a directional check on paid media performance," framing the AI tools as a starting point for human investigation rather than a decision-making endpoint.
