YouTube Announces Four Gemini-Powered Insight Tools for Brands and Agencies at Cannes Lions 2026

Brands and agencies running YouTube campaigns now have access to deeper trend data, consolidated brand metrics, and a new creator intelligence API. Google announced the new insights tools, built with Gemini, at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, according to a post published on the Google Ads Product Blog on June 23, 2026.

Expanded Trend Data in Google Ads Insights Finder

The updates include new trending insights within Google Ads Insights Finder in the United States, offering advertisers more detailed information on topics and content gaining popularity on YouTube. Google's Insights Finder enables marketers to search for trending content by topic, location, demographic, and audience segments, which can help shape ad campaign strategies based on real performance data.

Brand Pulse Metrics Move Into Insights Finder

Google also confirmed that selected metrics from its Brand Pulse reports will now be integrated into Insights Finder, providing advertisers with a consolidated view of both paid and organic brand presence on YouTube. The reports use data generated through Google AI to help brands assess the visibility and performance of their content across the platform.

Previously, Brand Pulse data and campaign performance metrics existed in separate locations within Google Ads. The consolidation into Insights Finder means brand teams and media planners can evaluate paid and organic performance without switching between tools.

New Content and Creator Insights API for Agencies

The new Content & Creator Insights API provides richer information about YouTube creators and audiences, enabling more effective media planning for agencies. The creator insights feature is currently in beta and available only to developers on an allowlist.

The API offers four main functions: Creator Discoverability, Creator Brand Insights, Creator Insights, and Trending Insights. Partners must meet eligibility requirements, including having a planning tool, using the API for advertising opportunities, completing an assessment, following data usage requirements, and signing agreements.

Creator Discoverability allows agencies to find top creators for a given set of topics, demographics, or audiences; Creator Brand Insights retrieves insights about creators relating to a specific brand; and Creator Insights provides channel-level data such as subscriber count, view count, and audience demographics.

Gemini Creative Recommendations for Demand Gen Campaigns

Gemini will soon provide creative recommendations for Demand Gen campaigns on YouTube, with the feature offering insights on creative elements, including visuals, that may help improve campaign performance. Google has not confirmed a specific availability date for this feature beyond describing it as forthcoming.

Implications for Media Planners and Campaign Teams

For agencies managing YouTube advertising, the integration of Brand Pulse data into Insights Finder reduces the number of separate tools required to assess overall brand presence on the platform. The Content & Creator Insights API, once more broadly available beyond its current beta allowlist, could allow agencies to systematize creator vetting using audience demographics and brand-fit signals rather than manual research alone. The Gemini-driven creative recommendations for Demand Gen represent an additional layer of AI-assisted guidance at the asset level,  though, as with all automated recommendations, campaign managers would need to evaluate suggestions against their specific brand and audience context before acting on them.

The announcements reflect the platform's broader efforts to use AI to provide advertisers with additional tools for measuring performance, identifying trends, and evaluating the impact of creator-driven content on YouTube.
