Once you publish enough content for your new website, it’s time for you to start building backlinks. The way you will build backlink is simple. Give one backlink for each article that you publish on your website. This is a good way to start building solid backlinks for your website. I admit to having trouble with the keywords and SEO area. I have tried to use longtails but it seems all of the words have been used to the point that they will not do me any good due to competition. Is there a source that can help me zero in on longtails? I would very much appreciate any help I can get. I have even held off on my webpage and blog until I can get this issue fixed.

The first thing you need to do before anything else is to get yourself a domain name. A domain name is the name you want to give to your website. For example, the domain name of the website you’re reading is “thesitewizard.com”. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. Getting a name does not get you a website or anything like that. It’s just a name. It’s sort of like registering a business name in the brick-and-mortar world; having that business name does not mean that you also have the shop premises to go with the name.^

I’d also like to zero in on choosing low competition keywords. A lot of SEO newbies are taking things the wrong way. I have observed that most of them target very popular keywords. Although this may ensure traffic but this also ensures competition. It will be very difficult for you to get to the top.

These are really great tips. Frequency of good, original, relevant and quality articles is really crucial. As long as this would be established, I don’t think you should still worry about the traffic for your website.

Great points to be shared out. But like angeldrb said, the content one is most important, if a new user sees your site has no content or not enough, they would not be interested in joining your site. Therefore adding content after content is good. But also don’t add all your content at once, add them at different times therefore they will see your site is updated regularly and is active.
But other than that, the other points are great, but the content one is most important to most people.

Aside from the tips above, I think the most important thing when having a new website is the content itself. It should be unique and attention-grabbing, not just some copycat of other existing sites. It should also be interesting enough so that you will have a lot of new visitors and regular visitors as well.

I have to admit all the content will help. This is really true since the duplicate content penalty is not as bad as what the gurus want you to believe. So you can easily start to rank highly if you are using an Auto Blog or another site to get the work done.
