In their blog, MoEngage shares some of the top Mother’s Day campaigns that truly resonated with customers. For example, Apple’s “Celebrate Whoever You Call Mom” campaign took an inclusive approach by asking customers to purchase gifts for whoever they call “mom” in their life. Some of the steps they implemented include launching a gift guide page, offering personalized gifts, and promoting the facility to “Shop with a Specialist”.

If you’re interested in nailing your next Mother’s Day campaign, MoEngage shares some insightful strategies that are worth considering. See below:

  • Have a solid omnichannel strategy in place to make your communication consistent and memorable. Make sure you integrate communication across all online and offline channels.
  • Use the Mother’s Day campaign to tie into an existing campaign or product launch to make it more impactful.
  • Create an urgency to motivate customers to shop in time for the big day and increase your conversions. Run countdown timers, have limited-time discounts and perks, etc.

YouTube Revamps Partner Program Re-Application Policies

Did you know that YouTube recently experienced an upgrade? Well, we have news for you.

In their most recent blog, the Search Engine Journal shares that YouTube has updated its re-application policies for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). The YPP program gives content creators the opportunity to monetize their videos, whether that be through ads, subscriptions, or other revenue streams on the platform.

On June 5th, 2023, channels that apply for YPP for the first time and get rejected will have 21 days to appeal or wait 30 days before they can reapply. However, if a channel reapplies only to be rejected again, it will have 21 days to appeal but will need to wait 90 days before reapplying. The main purpose of this change is to prioritize timely reviews of new applicants and appeals.

As for rejections, they normally occur if YouTube monetization policies have been violated. These policies include guidelines on originality, copyright, and advertiser-friendly content to ensure that creators follow YouTube’s standards. Additionally, channels already in YPP that are suspended will also have 21 days to appeal and will need to wait 90 days before reapplying.

If you want to create a YouTube channel for your brand and plan to monetize your content, this important update is definitely worth learning about. For more information about YouTube’s reapplication policies, click the link here.

TikTok Announces Education and Funding Initiatives for Small Business Month

Over the past few years, TikTok has quickly become one of the most popular apps out there! Everyone and their grandmother has it installed on their phone. Not only is it great for watching short clips of cats wearing ridiculous costumes or hilarious re-enactments from your favourite Harry Potter movie scenes, but it's also useful for propelling your marketing efforts–especially if you own a small or medium-sized business.

According to Social Media Today, TikTok announced a new set of workshops–“TikTok TakeOff”–in honour of Small Business Month. The series aims to help small and medium-sized business (SMBs) owners learn how to use the platform to maximize the impact of their promotions.

The TikTok TakeOff series is running throughout the entire month of May. It features the stories of successful small and mid-sized business owners as they enlighten other entrepreneurs with their best tips and strategies. TikTok will also be donating $1 million to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, as well as another million to “Black Girl Ventures”.

Since the White House plans on banning TikTok due to national security concerns, SMBs can play a pivotal role in pushing the app to remain in the US. After all, over 5 million US businesses now use TikTok to attract a wider audience and build a loyal customer base. Without the app, countless businesses would definitely be at a loss.

In order to create valuable content that reaches the right audience, you need to follow an effective strategy that can help you fulfill your goals. But first, what deems content to be valuable?

Before starting the content creation process, you need to create a blueprint. A solid blueprint will address important areas that help you stay focused on your target goal and keep you from running around frantically in circles. If you need help getting started, however, there are some key questions you should ask yourself to add further value to your content.

How can people find your content? Is the content readable? Will people be able to understand it? After reading it, will they take action? Are readers going to feel compelled to share the content? By finding answers to these questions, you will know which steps you need to take to craft valuable content and achieve your desired results.

In their blog, the Content Marketing Institute categorizes these questions under five benchmarks in their step-by-step checklist. Take a look at them below:
