Google’s market share continues to fluctuate in the high 60s, a big drop from this time last year. Yahoo! and Bing continue to hover in the 6-7% range, an improvement for Bing but a noticeable loss for Yahoo! compared to 2013. Statistics provided by Net Market Share.
Direction generale des finances, the French equivalent of the IRS, is investigating Google for tax non-compliance. Google had this to say: “We believe an adequate provision has been made and it is more likely than not that our tax position will be sustained. However, it is reasonably possible that resolution with the French tax authorities could result in an adjustment to our tax position.”
Twitter has formed its first major international ad partnership with Yahoo Japan by integrating promoted tweets and promoted account campaigns directly into their Promotion Ads Campaign Management Tool. It is unclear if this relationship will extend beyond Japan as Yahoo Japan operates separately.
In the State of Paid Search for the first quarter of the year, the Search Agency found that Bing’s ad spend has grown at a rate more than double that of Google. Total advertising on both has grown with Google seeing a 29% increase and Bing enjoying an impressive 60% growth.
