About Wellpoint

Wellpoint is a private healthcare clinic with locations in Toronto, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. Wellpoint Health Services is dedicated to providing a higher standard of health to its patients. As a current client who had released a website two years prior, they decided they would overhaul the website and combine the Toronto and Calgary websites into one.  

Requirements

Wellpoint came to TechWyse with an idea, TechWyse provided Wellpoint with a strategic solution to ensure the launch of their new website on a fresh url would not negatively affect the results that we have built historically on their old website for organic rankings through search engine optimization services and Google Adwords Pay Per Click services.

After meeting with the client and understanding the purpose of merging the two website locations (Toronto and Calgary) and rebranding, we came up with the following suggestions:

  • Launch the new website on new url, allow search engines to index new website, then redirect old domains to new site pages of same relevance
  • Create a new custom design that incorporates both sides of the company executive medicine (Toronto) and occupational health (Calgary)
  • Content management for specific website pages
  • Blog development
  • Shopping cart integration

Results

The entire website project from planning and documentation, to site design, build and launch took approximately 16 weeks. The planning that went into this website needed to be handled very delicately to ensure that all of the decisions made would best benefit not only the users on the website, but the internet marketing results. The website design came out with an elegant look that easily funnels the site user into the appropriate section of the website.

The final product illuminated exactly what the client was trying to do, bring together two separate companies under one name and one brand while maintaining a division between the separate locations and the services they provide. TechWyse created a homepage that would guide the user into the appropriate site with a balance of elements that will help in search engine optimization.

The subtle change in colour and imagery brings awareness to the user as to which service site they are on allowing them to easily toggle back and forth between the two using easy to find buttons above the top navigation.
Our search engine optimization team made a strategic decision to create redirects to all of the pages that have been previously indexed on the client’s old domains to ensure that no rankings will be lost.
Since the launch, we have received tremendous amounts of positive feedback with regards to the design, the ease of use and overall functions.
