Some solid points here, but I’m highly amused that the “About Us” section on this very site breaks many of the rules set out here.

Techwyse hypes itself to death on that page with an amazingly slothful overuse of exclamation points, headline bloat, and a confused writing style. Staff communication problem, perhaps?

(Really, though! You guys use more exclamation points than an elementary school teacher! It’s annoying! Not every sentence should end like this! Please edit that page! Aaaaah!)

Yes many people ignore their about us page sales possibility, instead they stuff it by airing about themselves. If we can use it for our good though, then why not. I will look into using it more often.

Yes Asha, an about us page is useful for both the webmaster and the web user. Its continued inclusion in most websites is a testimony to its effectiveness and usefulness. Your article goes to re emphasize its importance all the more.

Nice article, I guess not many people really think about this when a website is done. I have seen numerous “boring” and “un-informative” About Us pages.
