Scan all your web pages to identify duplicate content, and then remove or rewrite those that are positive. A proven way is to do monthly press releases offering a percentage off or something free. Anything that will get your local community to post your link of their website. The more local backlinks pointing to your website the more it will hold its ranking when the Google penguin comes around. Try it out!

This is not rocket science, Its all bout local link building and exposure for your brand in your local community with press releases offering a percentage off or something free. Anything that will get your community to post your link of their website. Why do you think business directories work so good for a website’s rankings? Because they are local.

    To beat the google penguin update is not an easy task.. It is very difficult to recover the site once affected by this penguin update.. There are some link removal and penalty recovery services available to fight back with the penguin..

    I guess more and more people are still spamming the net. Not having unique content is the reason google has these updates. It’s why so many online businesses are going down.

    My site seems to have gotten by unscathed, this time, but knowing that there are critters out there whom have never been fully studied yet leaves me wanting some extra Penguin repellant.
    I’ve seen some moderate improvement in rank by getting rid of urls that don’t exist, or shouldn’t exist, with proper 404’s. Occasionally WordPress will display content if a url is malformed due to the way it tries to “best guess” what you were looking for. By getting rid of these I have far fewer non-indexed urls.
    Recovery is always slow however.
