Why Vertical Search Is Threatening Google’s Reign

This Week In Internet Marketing 2013 05 14Google is the most dominant means of search when it comes to traditional desktop queries, but with mobile searches on a continual incline, search behaviours are changing. Vertical searches refers to when consumers go directly to a company app or ecommerce site instead of using a search engine.

Content Isn’t King. Trust Is King.

This Week In Internet Marketing 2013 05 14Content marketing helps companies build familiarity and trust with prospective customers. Creating engaging content will increase the number of return visitors, while building an authoritative position for your brand. It’s important to write for your audience and not for SEO or soley about your company. Be factual and helpful, this will keep people coming back for more.

AdWords Ad Group Mobile Bid Adjustments Are Here

AdWords Ad Group Mobile Bid Adjustments Are HereGoogle AdWords has begun to roll out its new mobile ad group level adjustments for AdWords accounts. Since mobile search queries have proven to be different than desktop, this feature will allow advertisers to create one campaign for both mobile and desktop with separate CPC value.

How Much Should You Spend on SEO Services

It might be difficult to comprehend the costs associated with SEO services. Most SEO agencies follow similar payment models; however, the amount of time spent on an SEO campaign, all depends on how much businesses are welling to spend. Also, be weary of black hat tactics and false promises. Decide what SEO strategies are most valuable to you.

Great piece of knowledge about the king of Internet..

Like cliverederson, I’d never really heard of vertical search before this article. Thanks, Vanessa, for bringing this stuff to my attention and compiling it so nicely! I’m a firm believer that unique content begets new readers and viewers but I definitely agree that keeping people around has to be done through a mixture of building trust and rapport with them, as well as fresh content.

I had never heard of the concept of “vertical search” but it makes a lot of sense. Especially on mobile, I think people fire up the Amazon app or Kayak app then search within them instead of opening Google by default on their browser. Great post.

You’re right, I have been busy preparing for Mother’s day and my mom’s birthday which fell on the same week. The topic “Content Isn’t King. Trust Is King,” really hit me most because I’m firm believer that content really is the king in order to be successful. I will give these articles a read once I get home. Thank you for sharing these!
    Cheers,
    Mark.

“Trust Is King.” – Very true

I like the fact that it is a quick reference to several things relevant to internet marketing all in one place. I have found out that my favorite is “Content Isn’t King” because of the high points that it makes. I share some of the same thoughts of the author when she author states that “it’s important to write for your audience and not for SEO.” Many times this idea is lost because of our desire to achieve traffic.
